2021 promises further changes and reforms, and the effects of the pandemic on education here to stay.
The 2021 CITRENZ Face-to-face Conference will be held on July 14 – 16, 2021 in Wellington. As well as regular technology and education papers, workshops and panels, CITRENZ 2021 also offers sessions to address the ongoing challenges our education providers are facing. This is further enhanced with keynote speakers, networking and social sessions, and strong engagement with industry.

The theme for CITRENZ 2021 is: “Technology, Education, and Industry Collaboration in a Post-COVID World”.

CITRENZ 2021 is the premiere computing education conference in New Zealand and spans all disciplines of computing and information technology education. While focusing on tertiary education, it also provides links from secondary education and further into the computing industry. The conference regularly attracts more than 100 attendees from all over New Zealand as well as international delegates. This conference is open to all educators, professionals, and researchers in the wider computing and information technology community.

This international conference is broad in scope and we now invite submissions in several categories:

Papers in all the sub disciplines of the computing field, (Information Systems, Information Technology, Software Engineering, and Computer Science) are encouraged. We also welcome papers in the areas of social networking, work-integrated learning, agile development, online learning, mobile and cloud solutions, data analytics, internet of things, collaboration across education providers, and innovative teaching practices during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Important Deadlines
Please submit your paper proposal by 16 April, 2021. Paper proposals will be double-blind refereed by two reviewers. They will be selected for presentation at the conference and included in the proceedings (as published abstracts). A paper proposal outline is available here just to suggest some points to include. However, you will use the form in EasyChair for making your paper proposal submission.
Authors of successful proposals will be notified by 21 April, 2021. Upon notification, you should register and prepare the presentation slides (of high quality) for the conference. At least one of the paper’s authors must be able to present the paper during the conference dates.

The following research output is optional and intended only for those who are seeking publication of full papers: After acceptance, authors who are able to produce completed papers are invited to submit these by 28 May, to be peer-reviewed thereafter. Completed papers should be between 3,000 and 5,000 words. A paper template, incorporating the guidelines, is available here.
Editorially reviewed items
Proposals for workshops and panels will be considered by the editorial board and conference chairs. Criteria for acceptance will be the anticipated level of potential interest and relevance to the conference attendees. Posters are editorially reviewed and included in the proceedings. Acceptance criteria for posters are scholarship and relevance to conference attendees. The following items are submitted via EasyChair.
Please indicate in your abstract and/or title if your submission is one of the following types of items:
Posters are a concise summary of academic work. At least one author should register for the conference. Accepted posters will be displayed at the 2021 CITRENZ Conference. They are to be submitted in short paper structure, using the provided template by no later than 28 May, 2021. A poster template, incorporating the guidelines, is available here
Ideas for Panels and offers to chair them may also be submitted for review by no later than 16 April, 2021. Panel chairs will be advised as soon as possible so they can arrange other participants and panel members.
Ideas and offers for Workshops may also be proposed. Workshops are to be scheduled within the regular conference dates. Offers and suggestions for Workshops should be submitted by no later than 16 April, 2021. Workshop presenters will be advised as soon as possible. When making an offer to run a workshop, please advise any special requirements you would have.
